John James O'Loughlin is an Irish-born self-taught thinker and literary author, much of whose childhood was spent away from his native Galway in Hampshire and Surrey, in south-east England where, following initial tutoring from a Catholic priest, he attended a number of state schools, Protestant as well as Catholic. Most of his adult life has been spent at different addresses in the north London Borough of Haringey, to which he moved from Surrey in 1974, and all but a few of his books have been written there, the majority of which are of an intensely philosophical and even ideologically-motivated revolutionary religious character that aptly lends itself to indie publishing, as with his own publishing platform, Centretruths Digital Media, founded in 2007 to publish not only his original literary works but also a number of classic transcripts, together with some art, music, and videos of a subordinate though usually correlative nature. Despite his long exile in England, John O'Loughlin is and has always been an Irish citizen, even if one whose sense of nationality – never particularly strong – has more to do with being anti-British than necessarily pro-Irish in any secular republican or even traditionally Catholic sense.
