Assuming football survives into the future,

Plastic pitches will supersede

The grass/earth pitches of

The traditional all-too-often mud-caked football field.

Not only do they make for a more exciting, because

Quicker game; they make for a more civilized,

Because cleaner, game to boot!

A game, moreover, that can be played

Indoors instead of outdoors.
